Hey! Thanks for downloading the song and reading this! The song is one of the most emotional pieces I've heard so far: "Shiro, Long Tail's" from Wolf's Rain, composed by Yoko Kanno. The piano-solo transcription is not for the beginning pianist. Although I would love to help you out with difficult phrases, a certain proficiency is required to play this piece. [ A ] Legato. Voice the right hand without forcing the melody [ B ] Cantabile – especially measures 34-35, before the simile. Pardon the rather large reaches (m. 46-49). I fear some of you will have difficulties reaching certain spans (10s, 11ths), so feel free to omit the secondary melody in the right hand if reaching is a problem. [ C ] Delicate staccato. Bridging section [ D ] Beware the pedal - don't smush the left hand's tremolo together (like I did) [ E ] Welcome to Bb minor! This section feels minimalist to me, just because of the ever-repeating arpeggios, which was the best I could do to emulate a string quartet. Feel free to alter it as you see fit [ F ] Sorry, went wild with ornamentation, which you can leave out, of course. And yes, the last chord is actually held for 20 counts. So, enough ramblings. I hope you could get something out of the hints for each section. I'd love to see where you take this piece. Good luck, and enjoy!
